Local News: City to get over $600,000 from stimulus funds (6/23/21)

Wednesday, June 23, 2021 McCOOK, Neb. — The City of McCook will be getting its first payment from the American Rescue Plan Act 2021. At the regular McCook City Council meeting Monday night, the council approved, with the rest of the consent agenda items, to authorize the mayor to sign the American Rescue Plan Act - Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund Non-entitlement Units of local government application, contingent to review by the city attorney. Nebraska’s allocation totals $111,189,720. McCook’s first allocation is estimated to be $669,014. At previous city council meetings, City Manager Nate Schneider has said the city will get a total of $1.28 million from the American Rescue Plan Act. These funds are restricted to water, wastewater, storm sewer and broadband needs, Schneider said.
