Nearly 400 viewers tuned in to the Mike McQuaid I Am Home Breakfast, a virtual fund-raising event streamed live from home plate at Chase Field on Dec. 11 that celebrated McQuaid s life and contributions, client successes and the 15th anniversary of the Human Services Campus (HSC).

PALO ALTO, CA A mugging Monday in the parking garage at the Stanford Shopping Center at 180 El Camino Real led to the arrest of three Oakland juveniles following a vehicle pursuit, Palo Alto police said.
The robbery was reported about 8:20 p.m. and the victim, a woman in her 60s, suffered moderate injuries to her head and a knee. Before she was taken to the hospital, the woman told police she was getting out of her car to go shopping when two vehicles pulled up and she was approached by three boys who tried to pull her purse from her shoulder. ....

Statewide Earthquake App To Replace ShakeAlertLA In 2021

LOS ANGELES, CA The ShakeAlertLA app will stop issuing earthquake warnings after Dec. 31, and it was announced Wednesday that people can download a free statewide app that builds on the Los Angeles app.
According to Mayor Eric Garcetti s office, ShakeAlertLA was developed with personal privacy protections and communication methods, in addition to innovative software to alert residents when earthquakes reach a magnitude of 4.5 or higher. The statewide app, MyShake, builds on these techniques, Garcetti said.
Los Angeles leads the nation in earthquake resilience, and ShakeAlertLA showed how we can harness technology to provide critical warning before an earthquake hits, Garcetti said in a statement. MARTINEZ, CA Dozens of residents and staff members at one Contra Costa County assisted living facility are currently battling COVID-19, according to statistics from the California Department of Social Services. Neighboring Alameda County has 9 outbreaks in facilities, bringing the East Bay total to 10.
The tri-valley is especially hard-hit, accounting for half of the East Bay total.
Current outbreaks are reported at Sunrise Assisted Living Of Danville which has 29 sick staff members and 18 ill residents.
