Mac's Public House, Staten Island bar, plans to sue Governor Cuomo over restrictions


STATEN ISLAND, New York (WABC) Some embattled bar owners on Staten Island, who have refused to comply with COVID restrictions, are now planning to sue Governor Andrew Cuomo.
The owners of Mac s Public House claim Governor Cuomo s COVID restrictions defied logic and they have declared their business an autonomous zone.
Naveen Dhaliwal reports from Staten Island where sheriff s deputies shut down a bar and arrested the general manager.
The bar has been closed since December, but now the owners are planning to reopen without enforcing COVID regulations.
Mac s is going to open and we re not going to follow any mandates, Mac s Public House co-owner Dan Presti said. If you wanna wear masks, wear mask if you don t, you don t have to. Nowhere are small business owners supposed to be the mask police and enforce these policies. ....

Authorities shut down club in Queens with 75 people inside, dangerous levels of carbon monoxide


WOODSIDE, Queens (WABC) Even with the widespread concerns over the contagious new COVID variants, it seems many people just want to party - and in tight, packed spaces.
Authorities say they shut down another illegal club - this one on Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside, Queens on Saturday.
Police found more than 75 people inside - but COVID was not the only concern. Officials say the place was a fire hazard with a blocked exit and dangerous levels of carbon monoxide
Organizers face several charges including resisting arrest, and health code violations. ....

A family s holiday party in Milmont Park, Delaware County, turned out to be its own superspreader event.
We are ecstatic, Giliotti s wife Lorraine Giliotti said. He went from the worst, to eventually coming off a ventilator, to needing a tracheotomy so he can breathe, to finally coming home. It s a miracle thanks to everyone on the staff at RUMC.
Slowly, Giliotti made his recovery and gathered enough strength to breathe on his own.
Miracles are happening every day in the midst of this pandemic, chief operating officer and chief nurse officer, Rosemarie Stazzone said. COVID NY Update: Some vaccination sites in New York City shut down due to lack of COVID vaccine

Meantime fifteen city-run vaccination sites in New York City have been forced to close due to lack of vaccine.
Mayor Bill de Blasio says the shortage is causing the city to fall short of its vaccination goals.

And because of a delay in Moderna vaccine shipments, the city has rescheduled nearly 23,000 appointments originally set for today through Sunday.
