Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Steuben County spiked by 123 since Saturday, and contact tracing investigations led by health officials point to 50 locations where spread may have been possible.
Those who tested positive are under isolation and all known exposure risks have been notified.
“As predicted, we have had multiple positive cases and a number of contacts traced back to Thanksgiving gatherings,” said Public Health Director Darlene Smith.
Of the new cases, 26 people had contact with previously reported positive cases and 13 people had contact on Thanksgiving with people who tested positive, some from out of the county or state.
