Sydney restrictions explainer: The COVID-19 rules have been tightened for Greater Sydney. What will it mean for your Christmas plans?

Coronavirus restrictions are to be tightened for millions of people across the Greater Sydney region as the Northern Beaches cluster grows. New public health orders were announced by NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian this morning as 30 COVID-19 cases were recorded, 28 of which have been linked the Avalon cluster. Which restrictions are changing? The number of visitors allowed into homes will be limited to 10. While there was no evidence of the virus seeding in other parts of Sydney yet, the precaution was needed because of the higher risk that came with socialising indoors, the premier said. The city will also revert back to the four square metre rule in all indoor settings, apart from the family home. There will be no dancing, apart from wedding bridal parties of up to 20.
