A ship that was heading from Mozambique Island in mozambique around the cape of good hope heading towards brazil, northeast brazil. Came close to capetown, south africa. Capetown was often a landing point for ships before they made their way across the long atlantic voyage, and this shape came too close to shore and got caught in swells in a storm and struck rocks about 100 yards, 350 feet or so from shore. The captain whose last name was tried to salvage what he could from the crew. They attempted a rescue from ship to shore. He rescued himself. He rescued along with the crew.
