Independence hotel sells for $3.4 million CoStar CorePoint Lodging Trust, a hotel real estate investment trust based in Irving, Texas, sold the LaQuinta hotel on Quarry Lane in Independence for $3.4 million, according to online Cuyahoga County property records. New Horizons Ltd., a private company based in Chino, Calif., paid $3.4 million on April 14 to buy the 100-room LaQuinta Inn by Wyndham in Independence, according to Cuyahoga County land records. The property was shed by an affiliate of CorePoint Lodging Group Inc. (NYSE: CPLG), a real estate investment trust based in Irving, Texas. CorePoint, according to its conference call with investors and analysts on March 11, is focusing its portfolio on about 100 properties and sold 113 hotels last year.
