GROTON, CT A North Stonington man is being held on $250,000 bond after being charged by Groton Town police with the robbery of a Henny Penny convenience store last month.
Corby P. Stedman, 26, turned himself in on a warrant Wednesday and was charged with first-degree robbery, police said.
According to Groton Town Police Department Deputy Police Chief Paul Gately, just after midnight on Jan. 23, patrol officers were called to the convenience store at 1270 Gold Star Highway for a reported robbery. Gately said a person went into the store, reportedly with a gun, and demanded the cash register be opened by the store clerk. He then left with cash, the amount not provided, and took off in a car before police got there. ....
