Representative image MUMBAI: Ahmednagar police on Friday evening registered a case of criminal breach of trust, cheating and an offence under the Black Magic Act against then district judge-2 and chairman of the Jagdamba Devi Sarvajanik Trust in Pathardi, the then chief executive officer of the trust and other trustees following a directive by the Aurangabad bench of Bombay high court in a case of alleged misappropriation of temple property. “We have registered the FIR on the basis of HC directives and I will personally monitor the investigation to be done by an officer of the rank of deputy superintendent of police,” Ahmednagar SP Manoj Patil told TOI. Punishment under the Black Magic Act is a minimum of six months’ imprisonment and a maximum of seven years. It is a cognizable and non-bailable offence.
