Copperas Cove police officer involved in off-duty shooting arrested, resigns KXXV and last updated 2021-05-28 10:57:03-04 COPPERAS COVE, TX â A Copperas Cove police officer involved in a shooting incident while off-duty has resigned and been arrested, Copperas Cove Police Chief Eddie Wilson announced Friday. Around 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, a female driver was traveling westbound on Robertson Avenue approaching then off-duty officer Eric Stoneburner, who was traveling eastbound. According to Copperas Cove PD, the woman turned her vehicle across both lanes of traffic, appearing to try and back into a driveway in the 900 block of Robertson Avenue. Stoneburner yielded as she backed toward the driveway. Authorities say he decided to drive past the front space of the vehicle once space presented itself. ....

Students at Copperas Cove High School wasted no time taking their turn to get the vaccine Tuesday. Several students lined up to get the Pfizer vaccine once they heard they were eligible and it was something the district was happy to see. âItâs makes me excited that we are getting closer and closer to maybe becoming normal again and theyâre concerned, and they are doing their part to help everybody else,â said Amy Hudson, Director of Health Services, CCISD. ....
Copperas Cove ISD continuing face covering requirement for students, staff CCISD and last updated 2021-03-05 12:27:32-05 COPPERAS COVE, TX â Copperas Cove ISD announced they will continue requiring face coverings for both students and staff in the district following Governor Abbott s decision to lift the statewide mask mandate. In a press release earlier this week, the TEA announced local school boards have full authority to determine their mask policy. Public school systems are allowed to keep their current masks practices in place. After consulting with Coryell County medical professionals and local emergency management officials, Copperas Cove ISD Superintendent Dr. Joe Burns announced that face coverings will continue to be required for both students and staff in the district, CCISD said in a statement. ....

Locken is fearing for her daughterâs safety after learning the 6-year-old, who she thought was at school at Clements/Parsons Elementary, was left on a bus for hours. âI was nervous and scared,â said 6-year-old Kennedy Locken.
