you know, there is an old saying in washington. it s not the crime, but the cover-up. so we already knew that the special counsel was looking into trump s handling of classified documents. we now know that they were looking to how they handled security footage in mar-a-lago, and whether it was tampered, whether was withheld. so that is a sign that the investigators are strongly looking into possible obstruction of justice charges. and then our fabulous colleagues, paul reid, and caitlin polantz found out that there are two senior trump level organization employees who are gonna go before the special counsel tomorrow. that s on the lookout for. and they are expected to be asked about that footage. and that reason why that was just so important, because they can really shed light on how this documents were handled. cnn reported that there is a footage of this other truncated who is running out boxes of documents from a storage closet. and so this is a very significant step in
them a very brief, very brief, frankly, preview into the case to come. and i think it also tells us that we will have a number versions something around both in the interpretation of the telephone call and even if you listen to the call where meadows says this is the chief of staff, and the fact that they re calling from the oval office, it s a unique introduction. clearly, he didn t say this is the trump campaign. now, whether that s from the federal judge, i doubted. but it s a piece of information that will get put into the mix as they decide how it should lay forward and maybe compel it to an appeal court. the fact that he was repeatedly asked by prosecutors why he visited that atlanta facility where georgia officials were auditing ballot signatures, he said he was there on his own volition, the chief of staff, he was a visiting his two children for christmas. but how does this sit with the judge here? i think as what you re pointing out is how inconsistent a lot of the state
visited the cop county for the vote audit that was going on out there and it was turned away. he said he was there, he was in town because was visiting one of his children. he wasn t there because of the election, just happen to decide to go to atlanta that day to visit one of his children and then decided to turn to the spot to audit votes and see if he could illegally get in the room where the votes were being audited. this is one of those things where, when you get on the witness stand like this, the credibility of every question affects your overall credibility. it does, lawrence, and again he s locking himself into these stories so this idea of why he went to georgia or this thing about this was all about settling litigation it may come out later from other witnesses that those things are true, or that those things are absolutely not true. so if he tries to take the stand again and testify in any way that s inconsistent with that or if the prosecutors learned that those things w
