Kampala Uganda’s President Museveni on Tuesday confirmed closure of social media channels ahead of tomorrow’s General Election.
Museveni, who was addressing the country yesterday apologised for inconveniences caused to social media users and blamed the shutdown on one of the international groups that decided to block the NRM message senders, targeting them. He mentioned Face book.
Last week, owners of 50 Facebook accounts in support of the President were closed.

Uganda s presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine was on Tuesday forced to end his interview with a local radio station, Hot 96, prematurely after the military allegedly raided his Kampala home.
Wine, 38, of National Unity Platform, is among the 10 candidates challenging President Yoweri Museveni in the Thursday s presidential election. He has been vocal with how the military has been using excessive force on his party members.
“So I am sorry even right now as we speak, we are being raided by the military. I have to end the interview because I can see soldiers beating up my security guards. I have to go down and give it attention,” Bobi Wine told Hot 96 broadcasting from Nairobi, before ending the call. ....
