In massachusetts we had about 2,000 deaths in 2016, more than five deaths per day, more than all the deaths associated with automobile accidents and gunshots combined. There was a 22 increase in opioid related ems transports between 2015 and 2016. In the First Quarter of 2017, the number of opioid prescriptions dispensed in massachusetts declined by 23 compared with the same period in 2015 and by 13 compared with the first three ....
