French G7 Presidency (2019)
The G7 (“Group of 7”) brings together Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States, the Heads of State and Government of which meet during an annual Summit. The European Union is also represented. France held the Presidency of the G7 in 2019. It made the Biarritz Summit, held from 24 to 26 August 2019, a strong declaration of support for multilateralism, with a central theme of
combating inequality.
