The Polar Plunge is now also mobile thanks to the Plungester which will be used at events across the state to benefit Special Olympics Minnesota.

ALEXANDRIA, Minnesota Every year, people go to the extreme to support Special Olympics Minnesota through the Polar Plunge.
These plunges typically play out on frozen Minnesota lakes. But they also happen on-site at schools across the state through the Cool School Polar Plunge.
What traditionally started out as year-round sports training for somebody who has an intellectual disability, now we ve got all kinds of programming, said Bill Fish, executive vice president for Special Olympics Minnesota. We re here at a school supporting our Unified programming where anybody can participate. ....

Alexandria Cool School Plunge numbers are 'blowing expectations out of the water'

More than 200 Alexandria students and staff members jumped into a trailer full of cold water during the Cool School Plunge at Discovery Middle School last year. The middle school has broken the Cool School Plunge record twice, beat its own record last year, and is on track to do so again this year.
Similar to fundraising, the highest number of students and staff will be participating in this year’s jump. ....
