Delta State retirees under the umbrella of Association of Contributory Retirees (ACR), have raised the alarm and rejected what it called alleged plans by the state Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), "to extort the sum of N4 million each from our members from the N40 billion loan to offset our backlog of gratuities and other pension entitlements."

Delta APC Governorship Candidate, Omo-Agege s Endorsement By Leaders Of Pensioners Association Tears Union Apart

A crisis is rocking the Delta State association of pensioners and retirees under the aegis of Association of Contributory Retirees (ACR) following the endorsement of the state All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege in the 2023 general elections by the leadership of the association. Omo-Agege is also the Deputy Senate President of Nigeria. The ACR, made up of pensioned and retired primary school teachers and local government workers in the state, is led by its chairperson, Helen Ejieh. According to Ejieh, it has over 50,000 members.
