Archaeological dig reveals remains of medieval home at North Quay

REMAINS of a medieval home have been unearthed during an archaeological dig at Weymouth s North Quay site, which is due to be transformed into luxury flats, it has been revealed. Archaeological dig begins at North Quay, Weymouth

ARCHAEOLOGICAL investigation work has begun at Weymouth s historic North Quay site. Work to find if anything of archaeological interest remains under land at the former council office site began yesterday after residents voiced concerns that historical gems could be lost forever when it is transformed into luxury housing. Dorset Council received comments from a number of local residents expressing concerns about the historical importance of North Quay after it was announced in January it would be demolished and turned into homes.
