Area above highway 13. So certainly that was on everyones mind. This is the memorial to that firestorm but this time fire crews were in the right place at the right time. Black smoke rising from the Oakland Hills at 9 40 Tuesday Morning sent an ominous wave of panic. Oakland fire says what ignited the blaze is a gasoline generator hooked up because power was cut off by pg e because of the red flag warning posted for the east bay hills. It was a huge explosion. Its like i hear a neighbor saying its the generator that explode and then we see the fire all over the place and i started to shake and everybody just get panicked and started to run all over the place. Reporter this family lives next door. It was a second explosion and the fire went across the street into the other peoples yard.
