NCCE Calls For New Orientation Of Ghanaians On Promoting National Unity

  The West Akyem Municipal Directorate of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has called for an introspective look at Ghana’s journey through the fourth republican constitutional rule and re-orient themselves towards maintaining national peace and unity. The Commission said the adoption of a constitutional rule in 1992 by Ghanaians was a call to action for a uniformed spirit of togetherness to work towards sustainable national development for the country. Madam Modesta Annie Sapaty, the NCCE Municipal Director for West Akyem, made the call during a programme organised by the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association at Asamankese to begin this year’s Constitutional Week Celebration themed: “We are one, Ghana first.’’

Constitutional Democracy thrives on citizen participation NCCE Akatsi South By Japhet Festus Gbede 5 HOURS AGO A great majority of 92.6 per cent of Ghanaians casting their vote in support of a draft 1992 constitution during the referendum of 28th April 1992 undoubtedly validated the readiness of Ghanaians for Constitutional Democracy. In activities to mark the 2021 Annual Constitutional Week Celebration, Rev. Vincent Adzika, the NCCE Municipal Director for Akatsi South, reminded the citizenry that 28 years of stable constitutional democratic governance is not a time to become passive citizens. He commented with reference to the 2017 inaugural speech of the President, Be Citizens, Not Spectators , that citizen participation is paramount for any democracy to be thriving.
