as the crowd size swelled and tempered flared. police say demonstrators were refusing to follow orders to stay off the road and several tried to interfere when an arrest was made. and in oregon pepper spray was used to disperse dozens of people. ten were arrested. in rhode island a fight broke out among protesters. police say off duty an off duty officer and state senate candidate punched his political rival, jennifer rork. she says it happened as she attempted to deescalate the situation. we have reportered on the kr ground covering on the latest. let s go to the u.s. supreme court first. we ve been seeing crowds swelling. how does it look today, this sunday? reporter: that s right. we certainly have. we re in the shadow of the supreme court here as you can see there is a large and very vocal crowd behind me. it has been growing slowly all day. and this frankly is the scene that we have seen outside of the supreme court for the last three days since that ruling came
just it s a tense moment. we re on the outside of the main protest here. as you can see, there is a small group of people protesting who are in support of the supreme court decision. and what we re seeing is really a conversation, passionate conversations taking place. both sides arguing, and, in fact, there was a larger group out here getting in an argument a few minutes ago at one point someone swiped a megaphone from the other crowd and they were given a verbal warning from the d.c. metropolitan police who moved in some other police forces just to protect this area over here, but i want to give you a sense of the broader flavor certainly as these sorts of conversations are playing out not only here but deeper into this crowd. this is a crowd of a couple 100 strong. we do see some counter protesters, some protesters who are out here kneeling and praying over here. and certainly some other protesters talking to them, i think overall things have been respectful here. i did
the u.s. supreme court. justices on friday overturning roe v. wade saying there is no constitution gnat right to an abortion. protesters not backing down after a night held for a right held for nearly 50 years taken away. in new york activists with planned parenthood leading today s pride march. a sense of urgency there amid fears the ruling could roll back other civil rights decisions including same-sex marriage. some 26 states have either already banned or are making plans to ban or severely restrict abortion. while some others are vowing to protect the rights of women. cnn has reporters covering the developments from coast to coast. cnn is at the u.s. supreme court where prothe testers are back for a third day. what are they saying? reporter: well, emotions here outside the supreme court are running very high. i want to let you know we

wan to do, jenna, is and would not like to see is the tea party get in the business of picking horses. we have supposed to be focused on the fiscal issues, on the constitution gnat of government, unconstitutionality of obamacare being one of the key points. to go beyond that makes us an institution that becomes the tool of a party and we never get anywhere because for decades there have been too many failures in america on both sides of the aisle. it is time that we the american people had solutions not just descriptions. jenna: matt, let s talk a little bit more about what david said, to stay anti-establishment, i m putting words in your mouth, david, i don t mean to, talk about being anti-establishment you still want to affect the establishment in some way, matt. how do you go about staying the movement, if you agree with david, and really have a major effect in this election in november? it is really about a set of ideas that define the tea party.
