and good morning to you. i m gio benitez. and i m adrienne bankert. diane and kendis are off today. we begin with that breaking news from texas. severe storms hitting the middle of the night. that s right. take a look at this radar right now. you can see that powerful storm system stretching across the entire state bringing strong winds and rain and lots of lightning. and those storms have already caused extensive damage. more than 100 homes in the san antonio area have been torn apart by what s believed to be a tornado. several buildings are also catching on fire and reports of roofs ripped off or collapsing. several people have been injured and some residents are now in emergency shelters. the strong winds also knocked down trees and power lines. more tornadoes and flooding are also possible in the next few hours, so we ll keep watching that. as those storms tear across texas, another powerful system is hitting the west coast. it s taking special aim at already wate
