LCS refinances Junior High bond, saves nearly $500,000
LANCASTER - Lancaster City Schools announced the district has saved taxpayers nearly $500,000 after refinancing its Junior High bond.
According to a media release, the district s latest effort came on March 25 when they issued just over $12.9 million of Refunding Bonds to refinance a portion of its 2016 bond issue, which bonds were originally issued to build the new junior high school buildings.
The refinancing was helped in part by historically-low interest rates in the bond market.
In the release, LCS Superintendent Steve Wigton said the refinancing shows how the district can save taxpayer money while still pursuing their goals.
