Two engines are offered on the 2021 Sorento: the base 2.5-litre four-cylinder, which puts out 191 horsepower and 182 pound-feet of torque, and an upmarket turbocharged version of the 2.5L four with 281 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. The base 2.5L engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic, the turbo version is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which Kia says is a segment exclusive. The AWD system uses torque vectoring with a centre-locking differential to provide extra power to rear wheels in slippery conditions.
