after delaying the nominee for steve mnuchin and price, there s a list of demands now. manu raju is hot on the story. good morning. good morning, carol. this letter just obtained by cnn, sent by the senate finance committee, democrats saying they re not going to show out at a key committee vote, trying to deny a vote from happening on steve mnuchin s nomination to be treasury secretary and tom price to lead health and human services department, laying out a series of demands, demands that include congressman price is, quote, inaccurate and misleading answers to questions about his stock purchases. that s according to the democrats words, as well as they say mr. neil gorsuch chin s inaccurate known as robo signing when steve mnuchin was working with one west bank, issue
reporter: despite president trump calling it a ban over the weekend. we re going to have a very, very strict ban. reporter: and again on twitter the president himself called it a ban. i understand. reporter: is he confused or are you confused? no, i m not confused. i think the words that he used is derived from what the media is calling this. he says it is extreme vetting. democrats on the senate finance committee boycotted votes on the nominees for both health and treasury departments once again delaying the confirmation process. democrats are accusing steve mnuchin and tom price of misleading congress. ranking member senator ron widen cited the wall street journal article claiming congressman price received stock at a discount contrary to his testimony. as far as treasury nomin steve mnuchin, democrats cited a columbus dispatch article of him lying against robo signings
more foreclosures than any zip code in america. i know what that does to people s lives when they are foreclosed on. and i want secretary design mnuchin to tell us what he did. he s called the king of foreclosures by a number of people because of his work with this one west bank. congressman price came out last night in the wall street journal, another very conservative newspaper in america, and said congressman price lied about a stock transaction he had basically inside information or was given an advantage that few had while he was in the house and working on health care bills and amendments. he was buying and selling stocks. we want to know more about this before we vote on them. it s what the american public wants to know. these are two people, if they are willing to lie to congress like this on something as important as foreclosures and health care, what would they do
