WASHINGTON - For the first time since his inauguration, President Joe Biden hosted a meeting with congressional leaders of both parties at the White House Wednesday. 
“Well, I’m happy to have the House and Senate leadership here, Biden said. 
It s also the first Oval Office visit for House GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell since Biden s inauguration. 
“What the bottom line here is, we’re going to see whether we can reach some consensus on a compromise, and then [moving] forward, we’re going to talk a lot about infrastructure today, Biden said ahead of the meeting.  ....

In the waning days of Donald Trump’s presidency, the House is moving toward impeaching him — for an unprecedented second time.
On Monday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said the House will pursue impeachment if Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet do not quickly proceed with removing Trump under the 25th Amendment. An article of impeachment has already been submitted, charging Trump with “incitement of insurrection” for speaking to a rally of supporters that later stormed the Capitol. Five people died. ....
