'It'll be 365 days I've cried': More homicides going unsolved in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind.  Donald Brigham was 47 when he died. Keshon Hensley was 23. Kielyn Toone and A Jayden Ware were both 19. And most recently, Dashambe Atkins was shot dead at 25 years old. 
In less than five months, Evansville has seen six homicides this year. The men named above are five of the six killed this year and those whose killers have not been publicly identified or arrested.
Brigham, Hensley, Toone, Ware and Atkins are the latest victims on a growing list of open homicide cases in the city, more than a quarter of which happened in the last year and a half alone.   ....

We have a great opportunity to strengthen our community, helping individuals and save money.
These goals have always been important for the United Churches of Christ. We and our predecessors were instrumental in starting Deaconess Hospital, The Good Samaritan Home, United Caring Services, and United Family Counseling Services and in bringing Habitat for Humanity to Evansville. We have partnered with other faith communities and secular groups to meet human need. Another such prospect is before us.
The efforts of CAJE (Congregations Acting for Justice and Empowerment) and United Caring Services (UCS) in conjunction with Southwest Behavioral Health to establish a crisis care center deserve wide community support. This will give police an alternative to jail or the emergency room when dealing with mental health or intoxication/substance abuse calls. ....
