Starting today the iowa utilities board will hold discussions about the Dakota Access pipeline. The meetings this week could end with a decision on whether on not to build a pipeline across the state. The pipeline would start in through 18 counties in iowa and into southern illinois. All of the other states have agreed to let the Company Build the pipeline. There have been several protests over the last year claiming the pipeline will hurt the environment. The first meeting this week is this afternoon at the boards hearing room in des moines. The public is welcome to attend and listen to the meeting, but there will not be any opportunity for public comment. The meeting starts at 1 oclock.
