we re going to begin with that breaking news out of baltimore this morning. the francis scott key bridge, part of interstate 695, partially collapsed overnight. it happened when a large cargo ship struck the bridge. the vessel was leaving baltimore for sri lanka. the local coast guard received word of an impact at 1:27 a.m. eastern time this morning. the port of baltimore is one of the nation s largest shipping hubs. according to the associated press, emergency responders are searching for at least seven people believed to be in the water. the washington post reporting now they are looking for up to 20 people. those numbers unclear at this point. it is too early to know exactly how many people overall were affected. the baltimore fire department called the collapse a developing mass casualty event. we re hearing from transportation secretary pete buttigieg. he tweeted moments ago he has spoken with maryland s governor and baltimore s mayor to offer the department s suppor
