Commuters plying the newly constructed 148km Mfum-Okpoma-Bekwara-Obudu-Obaliku dual carriage highway in northern Senatorial District of Cross River, have revealed that their socio- economic situation has immensely improved following the construction of the road by Governor Ben Ayade.
The road l, Vanguard learned cuts across the five local government areas of Cross River North Senatorial District.
Many who spoke with Vanguard have described it as the most ambitious road project undertaken by any state government in the history of Nigeria, given its length, about 120 kilometers have been completely asphalted with work ongoing on the remaining portions of the road. ....

The Forum of Local government Chairmen in Cross River State has called on the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to meet out disciplinary measures against erring members of the National Assembly for taking the party to court.
The Forum, which made the call while speaking with journalists in Calabar, the state capital, shortly after a brief meeting, emphasised that Governor, Ben Ayade remained the leader of the party in the state.

Barring any unforeseen circumstance, commissioners in Governor Ben Ayade cabinet are set to protest against the Supreme Court judgement on the authentic chapter and ward executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Cross River State.
The Supreme Court had struck out the appeal brought before it challenging the verdict of the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal which authenticated the list that the Ayade’s camp of the PDP considered to have favoured the camp of the National Assembly Members of the party in the state.
Some aides of the governor have continued to deny the specific directives of the judgement, insisting that the Supreme Court judgement did not identify any candidate as a beneficiary of the ruling. ....
