Following the success of its online classes held during
lockdown last year, Māpura Studios is extending its
creative programmes throughout New Zealand with MOA, Māpura
Online Artists.
When New Zealand went into Alert Level
4 last year, Māpura acted quickly to come up with new ways
of reaching its community of disabled artists, and continue
to support them and their well-being through online creative
arts programmes. No single online platform suited all of the
participating artists and Māpura also needed to tailor its
online classes to individual artists as much as
possible.

Tech startup Quashed, which helps New Zealanders stay on
top of their insurance with its free eponymous online
platform, has raised $600,000 in an oversubscribed pre-seed
funding round led by Icehouse Ventures, with support from
private investors.
Quashed gives consumers a single
view of all their insurance policies, helping them keep on
top of how much they are spending, the amount they are
protected for, and presents alternative insurance options at
renewal time. Family members can be added to a consumer’s
profile for quick and secure access to their insurance
information.

New
Zealand agtech business Waybeyond has launched a
purpose-built mobile Crop Registration app for tomato
growers, digitizing a time-consuming manual data
process.
“Those in the tomato business will be very
familiar with Crop Registration and the task of collating
that information. When we started talking to tomato growers
last year it was the one thing that continually came up in
discussion as something to support labor usage, business
insights and trends,” explains Chief Technology Officer
Jonathan Morgan.

A New Zealand medical company
says it has the answer to provide the government with the
most effective covid tracking technology.
Today the
government scrapped its planned covid card tracking
technology card.
Jupl, co-founded by pharmaceutical
scientist Sir Ray Avery, says it can supply the government
with wearable covid watches, based on Samsung hardware and
with Jupl’s medical monitoring system.
The Jupl
watch app can track and trace people in MIQ quarantine
facilities and infected people in home
quarantine.
