McCann Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian for Class of 2021


 
Perreault, son of Linda and Michael Perreault, is a senior in the Automated Manufacturing Technology Program. He is the recipient of the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendent s Award for Academic Excellence, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute medal, and the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. He ranks first in his class with a 4.35 grade point average. He is a member of SkillsUSA, National Honor Society and volunteers at the St. John Paul II Parish Food Pantry. 
 
 
Kruzel, daughter of Jhody Nimmons and Mark Kruzel, is a senior in the Computer Assisted Design Program. She is a recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship and ranks second in her class with a 4.32 GPA. She is a member of SkillsUSA, National Honor Society and the Anime Club. In addition to her academic achievements, she earned a gold medal at the 2021 SkillsUSA State Competition in 3D Visualization & Animation.  ....

North Adams: McCann names top students


NORTH ADAMS — Justin Kratz, principal of McCann Technical School, has named Stephen Perreault as valedictorian and Ciarra Kruzel as salutatorian for the Class of 2021. Both students will graduate with high honors on Wednesday, June 2.
Perreault, son of Linda and Michael Perreault, is a senior in the Automated Manufacturing Technology Program. He is the recipient of the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendent’s Award for Academic Excellence, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute medal, the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship, and ranks first in his class with a 4.35 grade point average.
Perreault is a member of SkillsUSA and National Honor Society and volunteers at the St. John Paul II Parish Food Pantry. He will be attending RPI, majoring in engineering. ....

“Necessity is the mother of invention,” the old proverb goes, and military men and women are no strangers to jury-rigging fixes on the fly.
And so it went when Lt. Mitchell Kempisty, who has served on several ships in recent years, saw a nametag problem that needed fixing.
Namely, the soft and bendy nametags were not standing up to shipboard life.
“They have a hook and loop Velcro that just attaches to the coveralls,” the 28-year-old junior officer said. “Over time, when the coveralls get washed or they get hung up or get rolled down to half-mast … they just get beat up over time.” ....

Using his own time and resources, Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Space Systems Engineering student Lt. Mitchell Kempisty ventured into unchartered waters to bring an invention of his making through the patent process, an invention which he hopes will improve Navy uniform fabric nametag durability.
Kempisty is something of an overachiever. As an NPS student, he is fully engaged in his thesis, titled Attitude Optimization of NASA s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter in Sun-safe Mode in Order to Minimize Star-Tracker Obstructions from Local Orbiting Bodies. ....
