Racism that is spewed out of washington, we have a significant increase in hate crimes over the last several years and its been a priority for me and for my office to be constantly proactive around Public Service announcements, community engagement, with other city agencies and Partnership Around prevention, and prosecution of hate crimes. Weve also taken steps to eliminate the gang unit that previously existed within the office to presumptively stop using gang enhancement and stop using sentencing enhancements.
