Community Organizations On Both Sides Of The River To Receive Community Benefits Funding


The Gordie Howe International Bridge handed out $100,000 Tuesday to several local organizations on both sides of the river as part of the project Community Benefits Plan.
The Community Organization Investment, one initiative under the broader Community Benefits Plan, is a five-year annual investment allowance with $50,000 (CDN) allocated to registered non-profit or charitable organizations located in or serving residents in Sandwich/west Windsor and Delray/Southwest Detroit respectively. The funds support events, programming and infrastructure improvements that will benefit the communities and align with one of the community investment priorities identified through public consultation.
This marks the second annual funding release from the Community Organization Investment. ....

Gordie Howe International Bridge team announces funding for eight new projects


 
WINDSOR, ONT.
Eight “exciting and unique” community focused projects in Windsor and Detroit will receive a $100,000 boost from the Gordie Howe International Bridge Community Benefits Plan.
The Gordie Howe International Bridge announced the distribution of $100,000 Tuesday to the local organizations marking the second annual funding release from the Community Organization Investment.
This year’s recipients will receive funding in July.

Godmanchester organisations help each other in pandemic

The town of Godmanchester ‘pulled together’ throughout the Covid-19 pandemic to help one another.  
Many organisations pulled together to provide help says town clerk Vicky Pryce.
“The town council, working alongside the Community Timebank and the Covid Mutual Aid Group formed the Covid 19 Group which established a network of helpers across the town. This ensured that every street had one or more individual willing to collect shopping and medication for those neighbours who were self-isolating or shielding.  
“Many hundreds of additional tasks were undertaken by the Community Timebank, including providing treats for those in isolation, while the Godmanchester Foodbank ensured that individuals and families did not go hungry.   ....
