A BARRY-based radio station set to launch in Penarth has picked up a national award in recognition of its volunteers’ work to deliver local radio across the Vale of Glamorgan.
Bro Radio, the community radio station for the Vale, picked up the Station Of The Year award at the Community Radio Awards 2020 event, broadcast on Facebook Live, on Saturday December 12.
The Community Radio Awards aim to recognise the work of the 300+ volunteer-led community radio stations across the UK, with 96 stations putting in nominations this year.
Bro Radio was one of two Welsh stations to feature in the top three, with North Wales based Mon FM picking up Bronze in the category. ....
