Look at this rally going on at Oakland City Hall before a Martin Luther king jr. Day march. This is one of the moms who had been living illegally in that home on the boyer street in oakland. Those moms were kicked out after a judge ordered that. The homes owner and the Development Company and the city of oakland and the moms have come to an agreement that could but those moms move back in to the home. Wedgwood is the Development Company and they will negotiate in good faith with the Oakland Community land trust so they can purchase the home at or below the appraised value. That home has been the site of a protest since november despite having no right to that home. They were upset about outside developers flipping homes when so many people or homeless. The judge ruled in wedgwoods favor. Today they have this to say i am willing to sit down with anybody who was interested in ending the homelessness crisis.
