The Pahrump Holiday Task Force held its annual Community Easter Picnic this past Saturday and even amidst the rain-soaked day, families came out by the hundreds to revel in the free festivities.
In the true giving spirit of the holidays, Valley Electric Association and CoBank are spreading the love this season with $20,000 in donations making their way into the coffers of three area nonprofits, bolstering each of the organization’s community-oriented efforts.
The Pahrump Holiday Task Force is a nonprofit dedicated to the community, so it’s not difficult to imagine the shock and disappointment of its members when they realized that some of their assets were being stolen.
“The Community Easter Picnic was a huge success,” Pahrump Holiday Task Force chair Linda Wright raved following the group’s annual, large-scale event, noting that she and her entire team were very pleased with the turnout. The event on April 8 attracted 1,000 people to the park, organizers said.
