Parker Council approves new livestock ordinance

After months of discussion and several work sessions, the Parker Town Council adopted a new youth livestock ordinance at their Dec. 2 meeting. One of the notable features of this ordinance is young people will no longer be able raise cattle or horses in town as youth livestock projects. This new ordinance will not go into effect until after the La Paz County Fair in March, so current livestock projects underway for the 2021 fair will not be affected.
Young people will be allowed to raise goats, lambs, pigs and small stock. Goats and lambs may be kept for 240 days prior to the fair, while other livestock may be kept for 180 days before the fair. ....
