Commodore Phil Nash, royal attaché for the U.K. Embassy, recognized the role that the Royal Navy and U.K. National Crime Agency played in the joint operation. Working with its U.S. and international partners, RFA Argus prevented US$54 million ($69.1 million) in drugs from being offloaded in Florida over the last few months, adding to the efforts of two other U.K vessels, for a total of $US650 million ($832 million) worth of drugs being stopped, Commodore Nash adds in the statement. ....

Coast Guard offloads more than 30,000 pounds of drugs worth over $400 million at Florida port

The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter James crew brought in close to half a billion dollars worth of drugs into Port Everglades Wednesday.
The crew intercepted the drugs off the coasts of Mexico, Central and South America in the waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean, according to a press release.
They offloaded more than 23,000 pounds of cocaine, 8,800 pounds of marijuana for a total of roughly $411.3 million dollars.
Authorities built up the haul by intercepting 20 suspected drug smuggling vessels using eight American and United Kingdom ships, including the Coast Guard Cutter James, Seneca, Reliance, Legare, and Joseph Doyle in addition to the USS William P. Lawrence, Gabrielle Giffords, and the RFA Argus. ....
