Police arrest 49yr old man, Agbenor for allegedly defiling 10yr old girl in Delta

The Police in Otu-Jeremi Divisional Headquarters in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State has arrested a forty-nine-year-old man, Jonah Agbenor for allegedly defiling a ten-year-old girl at Ekrokpe Community.
The suspect’s arrest was made possible by the Committee for the Defence of Human Right, CDHR, Orhunwhorhun/Usieffurun Unit who followed up on the matter.
Over fifteen pastors have been prevailing on the CDHR not to take up the matter and press charges against the suspect but to let God be the judge.
The State Secretary of the Committee for the Defence of Human Right, Comrade Israel Joe insisted and asked, “Did Jonah Agbenor realize that God would judge when he was every day sexually abusing the little girl with threats that if she speaks out, she would die? ....

CDHR Demands Reversal of Suspension of UNIBEN SUG

The Committee for the Defence of Human Right (CDHR) has asked the authorities of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Benin-city, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Edo State Government to reverse the dissolution of the UNIBEN Students’ Union Government (SUG).
Early last week, the University of Benin authorities suspended the Students’ Union executive of the institution and installed a caretaker committee in its place.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, the school Senate took the action to forestall a breakdown of law and order following a planned protest by the SUG in reaction to the shift in the school’s academic calendar. ....

Ibori's loot belongs to Delta - CDHR kicks, threatens to begin protest

The Delta State branch of the Committee for the Defence of Human Right, CDHR, has said the £4.2 million recovered loot of a former Governor, Onanefe James Ibori that was returned to Nigeria by the United Kingdom government belongs to the Delta State Government, stressing that the money must be returned and utilized for the benefits of Deltans.
The CDHR also said it is “uncalled-for” and “unconstitutional” for the Federal Government of Nigeria to hijack the money.
CDHR Chairman, Comrade Jonathan Giama made the assertion in a chat with DAILY POST in Warri.
He noted that it was Deltans that protested against the corrupt nature of the former governor as a result of the shares he bought with the defunct Oceanic Bank while he was in office. ....
