Memo that i just noticed recently, starting on page 28 from the office of Commission Affairs and whats happening with the records. My overall point is who determines what gets scanned. Is everything going to get scanned . For example, when you go look at the file, sometimes there are three cadexs. One is a docket copy. One is a copy without a date. One is a copy with a date. Sometimes theres a copy because it has been amended. Im talking about when people want to go review the files to understand a project. That is something ive done for the last four years. Other people have done it. And the City Attorney may have to do it at some point and certainly the lawyers who often sit in the back of the room who are downtown or wherever, they may have to do it. The h. R. E. S, sometimes they have notes on them. Its very important to read those notes. I learned a lot of things by reading a planners notes whens the project went a certain way. There must be an effort to protect tenant protections with asking sponsors about unit occupancy when filing for a permit. How about adding staff to knock on doors to verify whether or not a unit is actually vai vacant and tenant occupied instead of relying on unsubstantiated documentation. There must be an effort at taking a comprehensive look at how projects affect tenants and rental housing and then make whatever policy and legislative changes that are necessary. There must be an effort to ensure that our production of housing meets below market rate goals as well as meeting our market rate housing goals.
