UMMC staff rewarded with lunch

BATAVIA â The daytime workers at Rochester Regional Health-United Memorial Medical Center didnât have to worry about bringing their own lunches Wednesday. They got a break, thanks to a couple of area organizations.
Gilmartin Funeral Home Inc. of Batavia and the David McCarthy Memorial Foundation split the $2,800 cost of the lunches as a âthank youâ to UMMC for the work it continues to do during the pandemic.
âThe David McCarthy Foundation usually raises money to donate to local youth sports, but felt this was a worthy cause for their fund-raising efforts,â Genesee County Chamber of Commerce President Tom Turnbull noted in an email Wednesday. He also said D & R Depot Restaurant in Le Roy prepared and delivered the lunches. ....
