Individuals honored for exemplary personal, professional achievements
The University of Delaware will recognize five individuals with its highest accolade, the honorary degree, during Commencement ceremonies in Newark, scheduled May 28-30.
Approved by the Universityâs Board of Trustees, the honorary degree is presented to individuals who reflect, in their personal and professional achievements, the Universityâs mission and who serve as exemplars for UDâs students, alumni, the University community and the world.
This yearâs recipients are

Patricia DeLeon, honorary doctor of science degree. DeLeon is Trustees Distinguished Professor Emerita of Biological Sciences at UD and a past recipient of the Universityâs Francis Alison Award in recognition of her scholarship and teaching. Her degree will be presented at the Class of 2021 Comm
NKU to hold in-person commencement ceremonies at BB&T Arena in May
Graduates allowed limited number of guest tickets
Northern Kentucky University will hold in-person commencement ceremonies for May 2021 graduates and a separate ceremony honoring 2020 graduates, the university s president announced Monday.

Update 3/25: NKU will move previously announced outdoor commencement ceremonies inside BB&T Arena.
By moving to a larger venue, NKU officials said they will now be able to accommodate limited guest tickets for all ceremonies:
Graduates for ceremonies on May 8-9 will each be able to request two guest tickets for their ceremony.
