iTWire - SiTune and MixComm to develop 5G mmWave reference designs

iTWire Wednesday, 21 July 2021 10:31 SiTune and MixComm to develop 5G mmWave reference designs Shares   Semiconductor company SiTune and wireless communications technology MixComm are developing 5G mmWave reference designs that yield optimum performance. SiTune and MixComm are collaborating to develop 5G mmWave reference designs. The designs will be based on SiTune’s IceWings RF transceiver and MixComm’s mmWave solutions including the Summit2629 Beamformer Front End IC and the Eclipse3741 Antenna in Package, which was recently unveiled. The collaboration will allow customers to develop systems that maximise performance and thermal efficiency but with an optimal bill of materials and fast time to market. Initial reference designs from both will be ideal for 5G O-ran infrastructure such as small cells and customer premises equipment.

iTWire - MixComm introduces Antenna in Package for 5G mmWave infrastructure

iTWire Monday, 19 July 2021 11:00 MixComm introduces Antenna in Package for 5G mmWave infrastructure Shares MixComm adds a new Antenna in Package (AiP) to its portfolio of 5G mmWave solutions. MixComm’s Eclipse3741 is a 5G beamformer phased array Antenna in Package module. It combines multiple MixComm RFSOI beamforming front end integrated circuits with a sixteen element (4x4) antenna array. Covering FR2 band n260 from 37.0 to 41.0 GHz, it offers linear output power, efficiency, and extreme integration. This AiP module is designed to enable λ/2 wavelength antenna lattice spacing when tiled together to support higher power applications. MixComm claims it has also been optimised for heat management.
