the shooting suspect is due in court an hour from now. police say he s a former student at the school. a law enforcement official tells cnn the fbi received at least two alleged threat reports about the shooter, including a youtube post. in both cases the fbi did not share the information with local law enforcement. and president trump steps into the role of comforter-in-chief. the president addressed the nation, pledging to make schools safer. it is not enough to simply take actions that make us feel like we are making a difference. we must actually make that difference. in times of tragedy, the bonds that sustain us are those of family, faith, community and country. these bonds are stronger than the forces of hatred and evil, and these bonds grow even stronger in the hours of our greatest need.
committee briefed reporters today. while many questions about possible collusion involving the trump campaign remain unanswered, both senators agree russia still very much trying to create chaos here in side the united states. let s bring in hour senior congressional correspondent manu covering this for us. what else have they said? reporter: they said they have done an investigation nine-month inquiry saying they talked to roughly 100 people. actually went through more than 100,000 pages of documents, about 4,000 transcript pages as well. but they said there were a lot of unanswered questions. including this major question, did anyone in the trump campaign collude with the russians as part of an effort to meddle with the elections? that s still a question that senator richard burr says is outstanding. the president has said that any talk of collusion is a hoax.
