Charlotte Edwards, Digital Technology and Science Reporter 18 Dec 2020, 10:40 AN angelic figure on the surface of Mars has been spotted by the European Space Agency. Scientists were using the Mars Express spacecraft to observe around the south pole of Mars when they spotted what looks like a snow angel formation on the ground. 4 This is the pattern that was spottedCredit: PA:Press Association The researchers may have been feeling festive when they pointed out that the formation looks like it has a halo and two wings. A heart shape to the right of the angel has also been pointed out. The ESA said in a statement: The defined wings of an angelic figure, complete with halo, can be seen sweeping up and off the top of the frame in this image. ....
New Space Mission in UK is Set to Chase Comets and Study Stardust FOLLOW US ON: Engineers in the UK are starting to work on a new spacecraft that will chase down comets and the map them for scientific research. The Guardian reports that the mission involves three spacecraft that have been designed to collaborate. Of these, the mother ship is being built by Thales Alenia Space, which is based out in UK. As per the report, the mothership will hold two smaller robotic probes that can be released close to the target comet. Designed for extreme close fly-bys, the probes will send images and other data back to the mothership for research. ....
British engineers are set to build a spacecraft that will track down and ambush comets in order to study them in unprecedented detail. The mission, dubbed the comet chaser , will feature three main components, a mothership built by a company called Thales Alenia Space based in the UK, and two robotic probes which will be manufactured by the Japanese Space Agency (JAXA). Astronomers hope the highly-detailed 3D-scans of the space rock s surface will reveal secrets about the formation of comets and the early universe.
