Investigators are still piecing this together and tell us these officers were responding to an accident first reported on the northbound lanes and traveling on southbound lanes at a high rate of speed to turn around and go back another way. It turned out the accident was here on the southbound side, but the time they realized it, it was too late. California patrol members uniform and nonuniform have been suffering a severe loss today. Reporter fresno area patrol lost two of its own, killed while responding to a 911 call on highway 99. They drove right into.
