Yes, the artistic director, Leslie Charipar , tells me that tcr did contact at least one organization that advocates on behalf of the Deaf Community when casting. But admits it could have done more. Charipar addressed peoples concerns on a post on tcrs website. She says no deaf actors showed up to auditions and tcr was just following policy when it comes to selecting actors.
