Our main campus is in patterson, New Jersey, the third largest city in our state. I have been president since 1996 and have been at the college since 1987. When i arrived we had 2,000 students a year. Turntly we serve over 11,000. This growth is fairly typical of Community Colleges during this time span. 80 of our students are minority with many having english as their second language. Maniel enrolled to seek an Associates Degree. Others come seeking our Work Force Development programs in Health Care and technology fields. Thank you for having me. Great to see you. Since being confirmed, i understand you traveled to 16 states plus Puerto Rico in a territory that doesnt come to visiting schools and students. What have you learned during those trips . I learned number one the students are resilient and educators are rock stars and that we want to come back to school safely but we missed the peer to peer interaction. We miss engaging with teachers and we want to come back to a system that is better than the one that we left in march of 2020.
