I canât imagine many Australians are comfortable with the Prime Minister laying hands on them in evacuation centres, nor seeing their social media lives as controlled by the âevil oneâ (âPMâs beliefs rise like an eagle before Christian leadersâ, April 27). Perhaps worse is his attack on âidentity politicsâ, pure dogwhistling to his fellow evangelical Christians who also believe and teach that peopleâs worth is only found in Christ and true community only found in the church. I spent most of my adult life in these churches, and I know that Christians are encouraged to go into politics to explicitly influence and direct social policy. I am deeply disturbed that Scott Morrison truly believes he is on a mission from God.
