Freeze Warnings issued for part of the Tampa Bay area, cold weather shelters open

TAMPA, Fla. â The National Weather Service issued a Freeze Warning for the northern counties of the Tampa Bay area.
Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees are forecast for Citrus and Hernando Counties. Temps are expected to drop below 32 degrees for a few hours in Citrus and Hernando Counties. Frost is expected north of I-4, said Meteorologist Denis Phillips.
The Freeze Warning will go into effect
Tuesday morning at 3 a.m. and last until about 8 a.m.
In addition, a Frost Advisory has also been issued for coastal areas of Citrus and Hernando Counties and inland Pasco County from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m.
